Artist's Comments

all that we build is eventually lost to time and space, structures of greatness become piles of rubble and forgotten dreams

i wanted to try and capture the single glowing floodlamp that shines down upon this new construction. i have a similar shot with a train rolling through the picture but all of its lights and windows were either dark or facing away from the camera... so there's no huge streaking ghost train.

what is that place?
:icondelfin:
this is a wellness park that is being built near the busiest railway in switzerland (sounds like a good idea huh... peace and squealing brakes!) it's nothing too special, i just loved the huge lamp shining on the tower as they built it

Intense shot! A smaller aperture would have given more depth i think. Well lined up. :)

yeah, sounds unusual)
I would love to visit the place as the construction being done. so interesting, how it feels it there.

meh... i almost didn't upload this, because it's not what i wanted. i really want to show this glowing light in the middle, surrounded by chaos and construction. sadly i have no time to retake the shot... and they're building FAST!

yeah, at first i thought it was a new nuclear power plant or some crazy science institute... but it's a wellness park!

ahah) what a surprise!
and it would be worth the other way, thought.

I'm loving the muted contrast in the black and white values... seems to accentuate the desolate note. As if only the buildings with lights on by the train track are of the present... everything else merely a faded past.
